Recruitment & Partnership

Our Recruitment Philosophy

Even if there are no current vacancies mentioned on the "Our Team" page, as a firm, we recognise that the right person does not come along every day. Hence, if you are interested in working for or with us, then don't let the lack of a vacancy put you off contacting us as we may still be happy to interview you now we may either keep your details on record for the future or, as procced as has happened on three occassions so far and take you on and develop a role for you.

Current Vacancies, Graduate Placement Projects, new staff and Apprenticeships

We are excited about some of the projects we would like to develop in conjunction with graduates on placement schemes who may also wish to look at apprenticeships in financial services.

In due course we will outline on the projects tab some of the ideas we have in mind which you might like to talk to us about.

School Leavers & Apprenticeships - We are always willing to discuss with school leavers a possible Financial Services Apprenticeship, whether that be with a view to adminstration/office work or with a view to becoming a Financial Adviser. http://www.thanet.ac.uk/training_solutions/apprenticeships/

Going To University - From January 2013, the minimum requirement to become a Financial Adviser will be a Level 4 qualification specific to your role. Level 4 is the equivalent of the first year of a batchelor's degree. I am not sure if that is good or bad thing to say as I thought most students spent their first year consuming vast amounts of alcahol and doing no work.

It has been mooted that in due course it could be a requirement to have a level 6 qualification to become a Financial Adviser, so why not consider speaking to us about undertaking a degree in Financial Services, with work placement lined up with us for the holidays?

Graduates - If you have studied and passed a non vocational degree, you will have proven your ability to study, but finding a job when you have no vocational skills nor work experience can be difficult. Widening your qualifactions to become vocational by undertaking a level 4 qualification in Financial Services may be something worthwhile considering and firms like ours may be interested in speking to the right candidate.

We have previously taken on graduates under graduate placement schemes who have since moved on with our blessing and encouragement to work in Financial Journalism and as qualified Paraplanners. Find them on Linkedin and ask them what they think of us.

Adminstration - We are only recruiting apprentices for this role at present to compliment the age mix of our currnt workforce.

Investment & Pension Adviser or Trainee - We are always interested to speak to self employed advisers.

Mortgage Consultant or Trainee - We currently have scope to accomodate a self employed Mortgage Conusltant or an employed Trainee, preferably the latter.

Ex Services - We look favourably on ex service people (see Phil Castle's linked in profile).

Language skills, Religious & Ethical Issues - We are very interested to speak to potential candidates about the skills and understanding they can bring to a wider part of the UK community.

Disabilities - Or we prefer to say "ability focused". We are only a small firm, so we could easily have not mentioned this issue at all. We are however VERY happy to work with you and discuss how our work practices can be adjusted to enable you to work with us because as we said earlier, the right person is the most important thing to us.

Potential Business Partners - As an FSA directly regulated firm, we recognise that the Retail Distribution Review (RDR)may result in a reduction of adviser numbers and increased regulatory costs. This is one of the reasons we are looking to recruit new entrants to the Financial Servcies Industry. There are several ways that an existing adviser can continue to provide good service to their clients without retiring or joining a network, so talk to us about what you want from the rest of your working life.

This could include;

1. Merging your business in to ours (or vice versa)

2. Deauthorising and acting as a relationship manager, which although the FSA are concerned former advisers will not be able to restrain themselves from advising, our novel way of ensuring this either does NOT happen in the first place (preferable) or is corrected before it becomes a problem for you, us, the client or the FSA is worth a chat about.
